Comments:
-make sure all arguments have a point of reference or purpose to them
-I can tell you have been listening and taking notes - good work
-try including a small overview in the 2nc to make sure youve fully extended your argument

Instructor/commentator: Quigley
Comments:
-Good line by line in the 2NC, want to hear more analytic arguments/inditements of their evidence
-Good job extending evidence in the 2NR but I'd like for you to do more impact comparison and explanation of the overall story of the disadvantage

Debating on: CP/theory/politics
Instructor/commentator: Mikaela
Comments: Great line by line!
You could spend more time answering the uniformity solvency deficit. Why might uniformity not be a huge deal?
You also probably want to spend more time on state CP theory. Give some more offensive reasons it's good/important for the negative, and answer her arguments about infinite regression, utopian fiat, and lack of literature base.
Always remember to extend your 1NC evidence *first* when answering a 2AC argument.

1AC
-Good job looking up when you speak, but make sure to read ahead a bit before you do so that you don’t loose your place
-Maintained a good, constant pace

CX of the 1AC
-make sure to give the 1ac a chance to answer questions otherwise they aren't worth being said at all
-good job responding quickly but make sure to no interrupt when you can't get a word in otherwise

1NC
-Make sure to start with the offcase arguments and then debate the case in case you run short on time
-Don't over narrate your 1NC case arguments as it will mean you make fewer in the 1nc and its harder to follow the tags
-Make sure to read the tag before you read the cite
-Also, have a pre-written and clear counterplan text just like you would with an affirmative plan

CX of the 1NC
-start with clarification questions if you are confused by something
-everybody keep calm - keep in mind its a quesiton and anwer time for the judge

2AC
-good use of 1nc concessions, don't forget to impact conceeded arguments though
-try to maintain a common tone of voice throughout your speech. your voice seems to be going in and out as you understand more or less of what you are saying.
-don't forget to include a theory argument or two in the 2AC

CX of the 2AC
-every also needs to stay calm here too - banging on tables and pointless back and forths are offensive to the ears
-avoid the FYI question i.e. "did you know that?" or "are you aware?"

2NC/1NR
-good job referencing the arguments you made in the cross-x
-focus more on making your own arguments stronger and less on responding to their arguments
-pick and choose your case arguments based upon whether or not they can get you closer to winning the debate, not whether or not they are true

CX of the 2NC
-no more yelling please
-keep in mind that you aren't trying to persuade the opposing team, but the judge

1AR
-when possible in the 1AR, avoid reading new evidence and rely upon extending and applying previously read evidence
-youre doing a good job referring to your flow during the speech for guidance but it looks like you should spend more prep time writing things down on your flow
-try to fill all of the allotted time; there are always more arguments for you to make

2NR
-don't repeat concessions that othe other side makes more than you need to as it eats up your time
-keep things organized & start with your offense: the order should be fiscal discipline, states CP, and then the case without jumping between them

2AR
-good job making connections but make sure to maintain order and organization in your 2AR while doing so by breaking the debate into peices
-dont forget about the impacts of your 1AC, if you are winning some of an advantage then explain why it matters

Debating on:2AR Redo
Instructor/commentator:Baker
Comments:
-the 2AR is the last chance for the aff in the debate, make sure to make clear why it is that you win
-use arguments that the other side conceeds to your advantage
-make sure to reference previously read evidence
-describe not just individual arguments but scenarios that involve the arguments being made

Debating on: Practice Debate B
Instructor/commentator: Quigley
Comments:
-Very good job answering their case argument, logically and on point. I would like you to explain the story and impact of the adv at the top and reference more of your evidence from the 1AC.
-Don't reread evidence that you read in the 1AC, just summarize and extend
-Need to taylor your DA answers specifically to the Fiscal Disipline DA, rather than the downgrades answers that you read. They are similar but distinct arguments
-Very good job being argumentative in CX, I like to see that kind of passion. Be sure to ask a question though
-The 2AR is all about summarizing and telling the story of how you win the debate. You still need to respond to the things that they say of course but I want you to constantly be telling the story of how you win the debate and why the case outweighs the DA. So on the econ adv, when you extend it, explain why you have a bigger internal link to the econ, then explain why a risk of the warming adv means that you win the debate.

Redo:
-Be sure to explain and extend the solvency on the CP first and then deal with the theory. Explain that more, but you did a good job explaining your evidence.

1NC - VERY, Very, very, nice speech! I like the pace you take, and I really appreciate being able to completely understand everything your saying. Plus, in cross ex your able to ref. your evidence and use it effectively. Good job overall

1NR - I think evidence comparison is key at this point, your doing a good job and your making very good arguments. However, you need to understand when your partner mis handles something so you can pick it up in the 1NR. Great job though guys! However, when your extending evidence you dont need to re-read parts of the text... just a brief summary, or even the author and a bit of the tag will suffice & you should take advantage of concessions made by the other team.

2AC: You should redo this speech. Started out doing a great job with line-by-line on the case flows, but be sure to do that with all the case arguments! You should be able to respond to most case arguments without reading additional evidence. Good job permuting the CP but you don't need to read evidence about why it solves federalism or controversy - they don't have a federalism DA or a politics DA. Make a theory argument, especially since they read 2 CPs! Good selection of which cards to read. Your last argument on the carbon tax CP also links to you. You were making a good argument that carbon taxes were worse for the economy than government spending in CX - say this in your speech!
2AR: I really liked your argument that the government is spending a lot now and the impact hasn't happened yet. You should make that in the 2AC! You did a good job going line-by-line on the case. Your 2AC should be more like this (on the case). The 1AR only made one argument on spending - that it's good for the economy. That's all you can talk about in the 2AR without it being new. You had over a minute left!

Don't read arguments that will hurt ur advantage dont read impact D on econ why u solve for econ
If they mainly contest impact level u should address the alt and the link where its weak and should answer the root cause claim because u wont be able to address ur impacts
